Parents and Teacehrs demonstrate in Isa In Bahrain last week members of school communities in Isa, south of the capital, demonstrated against the Education Minister The protesters were demanding the resignation of the education minister - accusing him of provoking clashes between Sunni and Shia parents and pupils and not doing enough to protect teachers and pupils.Last month teachers were on strike and in the forefront of protests against the government and demanding democracy (see previous posts) Now the Saudis have sent troops in to the kingdom to suppress the opposition which is blockading the financial district of the capital. So far as I know no Western government has yet condemned this incursion by foreign troops into another country.
