Teachers and civil servants who lost their jobs in the latest round of cuts, dictated to the Greek government by the European Union and the International Monetary Fund, have set up a tent occupation outside the finance ministry in Athens. The occupation was started by office cleaners and has been going on for thirty days. They have now been joined by school guards and teachers of vocational education, including the president of the secondary teachers union OLME.

Dozens of unions and federations in both the public and private sector have expressed their solidarity and last week a solidarity concert was organised in the centre of Athens.
