nz2.jpg Teachers Making their Point in New Zealand  Secondary teachers inNew Zealand have been continuing their strike action in the last few days The teachers - members of the Post Primary Teachers Association - are fighting for smaller class sizes and a pay rise. As in so many other countries the New Zealand government is trying to make the education service pay for the crisis caused by the neo-liberal economic policies which that country has been a trail blazer for. Meanwhile 93% of primary teachers have voted to reject a small pay offer from the government after months of negotiations and are threatening strike action in the new year if the government does not improve its offer.
