Members of the Jamaican Teachers Association have been on a two day strike in pursuit of unpaid salaries This is a continuation of a long running dispute with the government over its failure to pay the teachers the salaries they are owed (see previous posts). Non-teaching unions are supporting the JTA's action with members of the Union of Schools, Agricultural and Allied Workers being instructed not to cross the teachers' picket lines. Teachersolidarity would very much like to hear from any teacher involved in this or any other action so that more first hand reports can be posted on the site.
