Lebanese Teachers on Strike in 2011 Contract teachers in Lebanon are on strike to demand the payment of money owed to them The teachers are still owed money from the third term of academic year 2010/2011. This is yet another example of injustice to contract or temporary teachers who are being increasingly used in all parts of the world as a way of saving money and disciplining teachers as well as depressing public education. It is a policy which is actively advocated by the World Bank, see: http://www.teachersolidarity.com/blog/contract-teachers-a-world-bank-%e2%80%98solution%e2%80%99-for-education/
