nigeblog6.jpg  Nigerian Teachers Demonstrating Last Year Leaders of the Nigerian National Union of Teachers are threatening to call their members on all out strike later this month In all only eight states in Nigeria have agreed to abide by the terms of the pay agreement hammered out between the unions and the government last year. Leaders of the NUT warned that failure to implement the agreement would have a deleterious effect on the already strained education system in Nigeria. The national executive of the NUT are meeting on February 24th to plan further action. (See previous posts for the background to the dispute)
