pr3.jpg  Puerto Rico Studetns on the Barricades this Week Students have been in a tense stand-off with private security guards at the university of Puerto Rico The students are continuing the fight against the privatisation of the university and the imposition of $800 per annum fees (see previous posts). Like their teachers they have voted for strike action and in preparation they have barricaded the university campus. While doing this they were attacked by private security guards - hired by the university who also removed university gates at great expense - ostensibly to let students and staff through.
