argblog.jpg  A Previous Teachers' Strike in Argentina Teachers in Argentina went on strike earlier this month to protest against low wages and poor conditions including substandard school buildings The strike received wide support in Buenos Aires with 200,000 children missing school and heads and deputies joining the action. The different teachers' unions involved all say that the capital's government is failing to come up with enough cash for teachers' salaries and for education in general even though it has money. There was a large demonstration of teachers in Buenos Aires at the beginning of the month.
