Teachers demonstrate in Tunisia
Secondary teachers in Tunisia are in a two day strike over education funding and the curriculum
The teachers are demanding the employment of more teachers and a reduction of their working hours - to relieve the stress of teachers in post and provide jobs for the many unemployed teachers. The teachers also want the curriculum - which remains basically the same as it was before the revolution which ousted the dictator Ben Ali - to be changed.
Union leaders say over 90% of schools have been closed in most areas. The union is appealing for international support - they still face oppression from the state. To find out how to send support and read more go
