Postcolonial Directions in Education, (Volume 7 Issue 2, 2018) is a themed issue entitled “Education resistance: Activist media in struggles for public education.” Articles of special interest to teacher union scholars and activists include an examination of documentary films from the US and India about school privatization; discussion of  the campaign against standardized testing in in Chile; and an “activist report” from the New South Wales Teachers Federation about the union’s use of digital media in campaigns to educate the public.
